Dermal Fillers
About Fillers
Dermal filler is a gel like substance made from hyaluronic acid that is injected into different areas of the face, at different depths to create lift, add volume and contour, and smooth the appearance of lines and wrinkles. Fillers are most often used in the lips, nasolabial folds, cheeks, jaw, and chin, and can be used in other areas to balance out the face.
What Are Fillers?
What Should I Expect?
When we meet, we’ll review your health history, discuss your goals, do a full face assessment, and come up with a treatment plan to get you the best results. The treatment plan will include areas to be treated and the most appropriate fillers for each area and desired result.
Depending on your selected treatment area, you may receive topical numbing or local anesthesia prior to the procedure. The procedure can take anywhere from 15 minutes to 1 hour to perform. Mild swelling, bruising and soreness may occur. You will see your results immediately, and can expect them to last 6-24 months (depending on filler and area).

Some patients have no downtime, other patients have a day or two of downtime. The most common side effects are swelling and bruising. Ice after the procedure can help with swelling. And, arnica tablets and gel after filler can help speed up how long it takes bruising to resolve. Because of possibility of downtime, we do not recommend scheduling your appointment right before a big event.

Results can be seen immediately after treatment and will get better over the course of 2-3 weeks as the filler integrates with your own tissue. Filler can last anywhere from 6-24 months depending on the filler used and the injection area.

We carry a wide range of dermal fillers and will choose the best filler to achieve the desired results based on the area being treated (ie the best filler to create soft full lips would most likely not be the same filler used to create a more defined jawline).

Dermal fillers are injectable treatments intended to enhance facial features, restore volume, and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Results and the duration of effects can vary based on individual factors, including skin type, the area treated, and the specific filler used. Common side effects include redness, swelling, bruising, and tenderness at the injection sites, which are typically mild and resolve within a few days. In rare instances, more severe side effects such as infection, filler migration, or vascular complications may occur.
It is essential to have a detailed consultation with a qualified healthcare provider to determine if dermal fillers are appropriate for you and to discuss the potential risks and benefits.
