PDO Threadlift
Non-Invasive Thread Lift
About PDO Threads
The PDO thread lift is often called a non-surgical facelift. It is designed for people who want to lift and firm their features and address moderate sagging skin in the face and jawline without having a surgical procedure. It is a great treatment for nasolabial folds and marionette lines and jowls. While the results will not be as significant as a surgical procedure, PDO thread lifting sculpts, firms, and defines the features to take years off the appearance.

A facelift is a great option for those with severe sagging skin and tissue who can invest in this long-term solution and time off to recover. The results of a facelift are drastic and can last up to ten years. In contrast, PDO threads can be a fantastic alternative for those who are looking to address sagging skin through a minimally invasive procedure without invasive surgery, and at a fraction of the cost of a facelift. The results are natural and instant with minimal downtime and trauma.
The threads rejuvenate treated areas in 2 ways:
1. Instantly lifting and smoothing sagging skin
2. Initiating a healing response in the skin to gradually increase collagen production. The presence of these sutures in your skin triggers cells in your body called fibroblasts to produce more collagen. Collagen is the protein that gives your skin its structure and elasticity. Loss of collagen is one of the main causes of aging skin.

In total, your procedure will take about one hour. To begin, we will mark your skin in the places where the threads will be inserted. We will apply a local anesthetic to ensure you’re comfortable during your treatment. Once the anesthesia has taken effect, we will carefully insert the PDO threads using a cannula (a blunt-tipped needle). The cannula is loaded with a PDO thread, and it is placed into the subcutaneous layer of the skin. The cannula is then withdrawn, leaving the PDO thread in position under the skin, where it keeps the tissues lifted upward and the skin tightened and boosts collagen production. This process is repeated, however many threads are required to achieve your aesthetic goals. Each thread acts as an anchor lifting the skin and tissues upward.
Once the PDO threads are in place, we will massage them and the surrounding skin to ensure the tissues are lying smoothly and the threads are properly in place. The PDO threads achieve an instant result because the lift is mechanically achieved. You will notice tighter, firmer skin and more defined features.
In addition to these instant effects, you will see continuing improvements in your skin because the PDO threads boost collagen production and renew and remodel the skin structure. The ultimate results take 2-3 months to become fully visible.
The thread dissolves in 6-8 months and can stimulate your body to produce its own collagen to further improve the appearance of your skin. The body absorbs PDO threads in 6-8 months after insertion, but the results can last for up to one year as the threads can help stimulate collagen production in the skin. However, results will vary depending on the degree of sagging, thickness of the skin, and the facial structure of the patient.
